Overview

The protagonist is retired Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Zhukovsky, who lives a lonely bachelor life. His monotony is unexpectedly shattered when Zhukovsky meets his former superior, General Terentyev. He sends the former special forces commander on a trip to a military unit in the regional city of Zarechensk. There, he must establish the cause of a tragedy—the escape and death of a private soldier. The former colonel goes against the advice of his command and the commission, launching his own investigation into the criminal enterprise. With the help of his fiancée, Zhukovsky uncovers the true motives behind the soldier's escape by discovering a hidden phone.
